Penguin Style at UBC

Walking around UBC like a penguin is not as fun as you might think.

Downhill, uphill, and downhill again, was what it was like today walking down Memorial from the bus loop on my way to the morning geography exam. Slush under your feet, ice falling from the skies and tree branches that dipped down like never before. Many people were walking with their heads down as if they had dropped or stepped on something as the snow came on and off all morning. And just as I thought I had finally finished with all this slush, I, along with others behind me, had our shoes and feet soaked in an unavoidable puddle few inches deep that had appeared to be solid ice. The last scene: a dozen or so penguins walking along a thin, but relative safe strip of ice, that eventually led us to the crosswalk to the bus loop.
